Every strong tenant union starts with conversations between neighbors. But how do we turn conversations about problems into opportunities to build collective power?
Organizing isn't about having all the answers. It's about building relationships, finding common ground, and helping people recognize the power they have when they act together.
Join SC Tenant Union for a virtual training on Organizing Conversations, where we'll practice how to have meaningful conversations that move neighbors toward organizing together.
We'll cover how to:
Build relationships with your neighbors.
Ask good questions and listen for the issues people care about.
Help tenants connect their individual struggles to shared problems.
Move conversations from anger and frustration toward hope and collective action.
Make clear asks that help people take the next step in building their union.
This will be an interactive training with examples, practice conversations, and opportunities to build your confidence talking with neighbors.
Who should attend?
Tenant leaders, organizing committee members, and anyone working to organize tenants in their building, neighborhood, or community. No organizing experience is required!
